Despite the spring showers, we were able to cater a beautiful outdoor wedding this past weekend at the Irvine Nature Center, in Owings Mills, Md. The tented reception housed a large group of Matt and Lisa’s family and friends for their green, eco-friendly wedding. The couple added personal pieces throughout the reception, as guests were greeted with a custom-made “wish box,” that encouraged everyone attending to leave hand-written notes with their well wishes for the couple’s future life together.  Personal additions also blossomed in the couple’s floral arrangements from Ellen at Local Color Flowers. This Baltimore-based floral design company, specializes in locally grown flowers to ensure all couples can have beautiful flowers grown from home at their special day. Palm-leaf plates were also used at the reception, as the bride and the groom wanted to utilize biodegradable options at their green wedding.

The décor wasn’t the only thing charismatic, as guests got to watch the most recently married couple playing the Newlywed Game. The bride and groom were on the hot seats, as friends and family members watched the newlyweds attempt to answer revealing questions about one another.  The fun continued after the game with a signature dessert table. What says happily ever after more than delectable, fresh, homemade, doughnuts? These fried, ooey-gooey, doughnuts were made to order for each guest to devour at the end of the night.

From decorations to doughnuts, Matt and Lisa were able to ignore the weather conditions, and celebrate the night away with their family and friends.
